Morning friends!!

I am a sucker for green smoothies and now drink them every single day. (Now…) At the beginning… I tried a million recipes and thought that the “tasty drink” really tasted like a mixture of grasses only fit for cows or a wanna-be “milkshake”. So, I took it upon myself to create a fool-proof formula for a delicious way to pack in multiple servings of fruits and greens in one glass! Although you can switch up the fruits in many combinations from the below, here is one of my favorites:

(For 2 rather generous servings.)


1 1/2 cups blueberries (frozen or fresh)
1 – 1 1/2 cups FROZEN greens (kale, spinach, swiss chard, etc.)
1 apple
1 banana (frozen or fresh)
1 – 1 1/2 cups coconut water

Need: A blender (LOVE my Vitamix I was spoiled with by my parents-in-law for Christmas!)


First, pour coconut water into blender. You need only enough liquid to keep the rest of the ingredients spinning! (The above quantity should do it!) Next, add frozen greens. (This will ensure the smoothie is cold and will keep the texture smooth instead of filmy.) Add fresh fruit next. (This is my big tip! In order to keep the smoothie sweet enough, you have to use at least one fresh fruit!) Last, add any frozen fruit. Blend and enjoy!!

You will then see that “unfortunately” green smoothies are not always green! Don’t let this deter you! When I first started making these, my husband thought they looked like _____ (you fill in the blank), but now he genuinely loves them. (Promise.)
